The U Project

About
The Full Story
At its core, The U Project exists for one reason: you matter.
In moments of crisis, uncertainty, or overwhelming struggle, it can feel like options are limited—or completely out of reach. The U Project was created to bridge that gap. Through a partnership with Kodiak Counseling, we work to ensure that individuals in acute mental health crisis, or those facing barriers to care, can access the support and services they need—when they need them most.
We believe that access to mental health care should never feel impossible.
What We Do
The U Project is a therapy-based intervention initiative focused on:
-
Connecting individuals in crisis to immediate, professional support
-
Removing barriers to mental health services
-
Providing access to therapy for those who may not otherwise receive it
-
Supporting individuals and families through critical, life-altering moments
Whether someone is navigating a mental health emergency or simply doesn’t know where to start, The U Project exists to help guide, support, and connect.
Education & Prevention
In addition to direct support, The U Project is committed to suicide education and prevention within our community.
We work in alignment with national resources like the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, helping individuals and families better understand:
-
How to recognize warning signs
-
How to respond in moments of crisis
-
How to seek help—without fear, shame, or hesitation
Education saves lives. Awareness creates connection. And connection creates hope.
Our Belief
We believe:
-
You are loved
-
You are worthy
-
You are not alone
-
You deserve access to support, healing, and growth
No matter your story, your struggle, or your circumstances—you are worth showing up for.
Our Mission
To support individuals in accessing life-changing mental health resources, provide education that empowers prevention, and strengthen our community—one life at a time.
Why It Matters
In a rural community like the Uintah Basin, resources can feel limited. Distance, stigma, cost, and uncertainty often prevent people from getting the help they need.
The U Project exists to change that.
By meeting people where they are—with compassion, urgency, and real support—we are working to build a stronger, healthier, more connected community.
You Matter. We’re Here.
If you or someone you love is struggling, please know:
help is available, and hope is real.
You are not alone.
