The Sunday Reset (But Make It Real Life)

You’ve probably seen it. The perfectly clean house. The color-coded planner. The meal prep lined up in matching containers. Laundry done. Groceries stocked. Life together. The Sunday Reset.
And for some people, that works. But for a lot of people in the Uintah Basin… Sundays don’t look like that. They look like:
catching up after a long work week
getting kids ready for Monday
church, family, errands
or honestly… just trying to rest
So if the idea of a full “reset” feels overwhelming—or completely out of reach—you’re not doing it wrong. You just might need a different version.
A Reset Doesn’t Have to Be Everything
Somewhere along the way, “reset” started to mean doing all of it. But it doesn’t have to. A reset can be one or two small things that help your week feel a little less chaotic. Not perfect. Not fully planned.Just… a little more manageable.

Pick 2–3 Things (That’s It)
Instead of trying to reset your entire life, try choosing just a couple things:
Throw in one load of laundry
Look at your calendar for the week
Tidy one space you use every day (kitchen counter, car, nightstand)
Make a simple plan for dinners (even if it’s just “tacos, pasta, something frozen”)
That’s a reset. Not the aesthetic version—but the one that actually helps.
Don’t Forget Your Brain in the Reset
Most “Sunday reset” routines focus on the outside stuff. But the mental side matters just as much. Try one of these:
Sit in silence for a few minutes before the week starts
Write down everything that’s been sitting in your head
Check in with yourself: What do I actually need this week?
Let yourself rest without turning it into something you need to “earn”
Because going into a new week with a clearer mind can matter more than a perfectly clean house.
If You Have No Energy at All
Some weeks, even small things feel like too much. That counts too. Your reset might look like:
taking a shower
putting your phone down earlier
going to bed instead of trying to “catch up” on everything
That’s not lazy. That’s listening to what your body actually needs.
The Goal Isn’t Perfect. It’s Lighter.
A real reset isn’t about becoming a whole new person by Monday morning. It's about making the week feel a little less heavy to walk into. Even if all you did was:
clear one surface
glance at your schedule
and take a breath
That still counts!
Here at Kodiak...
We love a good reset. But we also know that life doesn’t always leave room for the picture-perfect version of it. So if your reset is simple, quiet, or even barely there this week: You’re still taking care of yourself. And that matters!
